A few weeks ago, in this post, I wrote about the beautiful exhibit curated by comedian and actor Steve Martin, showcasing the work of Canadian painter Lawren Harris, that is hanging at the AGO this summer until September 18th, 2016.

Today I thought I'd show you the excellent pop-up gift shop the gallery set up to accompany the exhibit.

The colours and textures of the decor and items available reflect Lawren Harris' paintings so well.

There is such a great collections of gifts and souvenirs in this small shop, at a wide range of prices. If you're in the city, hopefully you'll be able to see the breathtaking show and then visit the shop, but if you can't, you can still access this shop via the main gallery. It is located where you exit the exhibit. The AGO is free to get in every Wednesday evening from 6 'til 9, so you can shop in this charming shop then, and thus become the bearer of great gifts!

Nice way of marketing. I like the sound of maple lip balm.

  2. Julie says:

I love the speciality gift shops that the AGO has when there is a particular exhibit- it is so impressive how well they pull together a distinctive look and feel not only with actual images of Harris’s work, but the other items, as well. Can’t wait to see this show!

    • Loulou says:

I agree, Julie … they really do have the best pop-up gift shops for the traveling exhibitions. The main shop is great too, but these special ones are such fun to see what they’ve selected and how those things compliment the specific art.

I think you will love the show!

Exit Through The Gift Shop – a brilliant film featuring Brit graffiti artist Banksy!
What a treat of a shop, beautifully laid out and some real gems on offer! xxx

    • Loulou says:

I love Banksy! He was in Toronto once and put up some pieces but they barely lasted. I never got to see them :'(. I have to check out that film.
