A Guest Post by Laura and a Giveaway from her Jewelry Shop

Today I am happy to welcome a guest to my site. It is Laura from Yummy Laura.

She is one adventurous lady. When we first met online she was living in France, after up and moving there from Toronto. The fact that her boyfriend lived there was a motivator for the move, but she had always wanted to do something like that, so she just went for it.

And the excitement in Laura’s life just keeps on coming, with Laura now living in Hong Kong. Here she is to tell you all about it …

Hello everyone! You may know me from Yummy Laura, my blog about food and travel where I share my current and past adventures! But today I am here for my new store.
This past fall I opened up on online handmade jewelry shop called Poet’s Circle Jewelry. Every piece of jewelry comes with a poem!

Making jewelry for gifts is something that I had started exploring when loved ones suggested I should open a shop.

Why not pair the jewelry with its own special poem? The next day Poet’s Circle Jewelry was formed.

I have always been writing poetry. I love how in a poem you can convey a great message in a fun and rhyming way! As a child I had a special notebook just for writing short stories when I was bored, but it wasn’t until later in high school, when I was given a poetry assignment, that I realized I loved it.

My poetry has no specific style or structure. I don’t follow rules and my poetry idol is Dr. Seuss. He always wrote such fun poems, simple to read, and always with such a profound message. (You may have to go back and read him as an adult to see those messages).

Today I am in Hong Kong for a few months and will return home to Toronto in April.

I am so grateful to be here on my dear friend Loulou’s blog and to be offering a bracelet entitled Magic Touch to one lucky winner in order to kick off a new period of possibilities! It is made with wooden beads and 18 karat gold plated fixtures.

About the Giveaway:

This giveaway is open to everyone around the world, one entry per person. The prize includes the cost of all handling and shipping.

To enter leave a comment on this post.

It is optional to answer this question but I’d love to hear where you’d go : If you could up and move to any place in the world for 6 months, at the snap of your fingers, where would you go? Or would you stay where you are? (Let’s imagine you didn’t have to work and your current job would be waiting for you when you got home, and your immediate family would come with you if you wanted.)

The winner will be announced here next Monday.

[If you're looking for the Rafflecopter Widget that I originally had up here, I've taken it down because it wasn't working properly. We'll just do this raffle old school, by putting the names of everyone who leaves a comment into a hat.]

I had the pleasure of meeting Laura in real life in the fall and she is as sweet in person as she is online. She makes a good friend worth getting to know, so pop over to her blog at Yummy Laura and shop at Poet’s Circle Jewelry.

Good luck and thank you to Laura.

If I could live anywhere I chose
    Then Mumbai it would be
An Art Deco pad on Marine Drive
With a view of the Arabian Sea

Poetry and my favourite place, does that count as two entries?!! xxx

  2. Loulou says:

You never fail to make me smile Vix. A view of the Arabian Sea sounds dreamy indeed.

  3. Cassie says:

Hmmm… just for 6 months – I’d have to go with Barcelona. Maybe I could finally learn the language. :)

  4. Beautiful jewelry pieces!

  6. Laura, your pieces are beautiful and your love of traveling hits close to home for me. If I could spend 6 months anywhere in the world I would live in 6 different places each for a month. I would see my friends and reconnect with the beautiful spirits in Guatemala, enjoy both Portland cities because I’ve heard so much about them, spend a month at the Thai Massage Circus in Laos, visit friends in Thailand and spend a month exploring India.

This was a fun question, thank you Loulou!

So I tried to enter the rafflecopter but it didn’t seem to go :(
I would love to live in Australia for a bit. It sounds divine.

Thanks for the note about the rafflecopter Shakti. I was wondering why people were leaving comments but not entering the rafflecopter. Instead of figuring out what was wrong with it :/ I just took it down and will put everyone who leaves a comment’s name in a hat.
