Today, July 1st, marks the 144th anniversary of Canada becoming a country! It’s a public holiday and there is much going on, including a huge ceremony in the capital city, Ottawa, with William and Kate in attendance. Just watched some of the event on tv and it looks like they’re having a good time. (Ottawa is about 5 hours away from Toronto by car so we won’t be making it in person!)
This picture was taken a few years ago to send as a greeting for my friends on myspace (remember when?) but I pull it out every year at this time!
The spectacular beer cooler was recently tossed though, as Nick was clearing some stuff out (He has to do it, otherwise we would just keep everything.) /me wipes a little tear at this tragic loss.
Follow-up : I found the beer cooler in a pile of stuff that hadn’t yet been trashed, so I was able to rescue it. phew! :)
