For the photo series ‘Take Tuesday’, co-hosted by Shakti and Nicole, this week’s theme is Water. I decided to go the nautical route so took a walk down to the waterfront. Did you know Toronto is on the edge of a big lake, Lake Ontario, and if you were so inclined you could sail from the city all the way to the Atlantic Ocean?
Wondering how that paragraph would sound in Pirate Speak? I thought so …

You can talk like a pirate too. Go here for a handy translator.
Going here reminded me I don’t walk south nearly often enough. It’s so pretty and peaceful down there. I have to say that it took me quite a few tries to get that ‘Pirate for Life’ flag just as it was unfurled! But I was determined. :)
Here’s to joining in on blogging link-ups … I wouldn’t have done this if I wasn’t playing along on Take Tuesday, so thanks to the ladies for organizing it. Do you regularly link-up anywhere? I’d love to take a look.

Great photos! Toronto certainly is a beautiful city. I like your pirate speak too. ;)
Thanks Joann :)
Thanks for linking up, these are beautiful pics! I love that you got a pirate flag and did a bit of speaking lol Have you ever sailed out to the Ocean from Ontario? It sounds like it would be quite the adventure
Hi Shakti! Thanks for co-hosting the link-up. It’s fun. No I personally have never sailed to the ocean from here, but my sister and her boyfriend once went 2/3 of the way. They turned back, not because they couldn’t make it, but because their vacation time was ending. I have been out on the lake though for little cruises, that are nicknamed booze-cruises, so you get the idea. Party on a boat basically! Always fun.
These are really gorgeous pictures, the sky and water are the perfect antidote today, it’s so grey and depressing here, your beautiful smile and all that blue’s cheered me right up! x
You’re so sweet Vix. I am happy to provide you some blue to make your world less, erm, blue?!
amazing photos, i want a boat right now! lol. happy tuesday loulou! xO!

Hi Sooae! Yes, boats are fun for sure. While I was there, there was a group of people sitting in one of those boats having a bit of a party in the sun. Not sure if they were getting ready to go out or were just staying in the dock. Either way, it looked like fun!
Gorgeous waterfront! That would be quite a sailing journey to go from the lake to the ocean. :)
Hi Cassie! Yes it would be quite the journey, but there are ports to stop at for the night, all the way along. I have read historic tales of arduous sailing in those waters though! The lake is a very very deep one and can be like sailing in the ocean.
I think the city of Toronto should hire you. Your photos are so beautiful and your city tidbits are so enticing and interesting.
Now that would be quite the dream job for me Jenny :)
Can the 3rd pic get any cooler? That must be amazing view looking over the water. I never heard of Lake Ontario nor did I know you could sail to the Atlantic. Really cool. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome Nicole. Thanks very much for co-hosting this fun link-up!
Loulou, I was laughing as I tried to read the pirate talk…too funny!!
Once again, I love your pictures…soooo clear, crisp, vibrant and interesting. I love these posts…they’re really great.
XOXO
Thank you sweet Martha! :)
These photos are incredible! They captured the colors so clearly!
Hi Leigh. I’m so happy you like them. Thanks!
How amazing are the colours in these photos. The red boat against the blue sea and sky is just perfect.

These are really nice impressions. I especially like the masts against the blue sky.
