Bits and Pieces : February 2013

Hi. Here is the monthly entry where I put the shots that I like, but that didn’t fit into any other post.

The predominant theme this February was snowy and cold, with just enough sunshine to keep your spirits up.

The pretty valentine was made and mailed from a province away by my dear cousin Lisa.

There is a house in our neighbourhood that always has the most cheerful decorations out, no matter what the time of year.

Back in the 1800s there was a brewery next to the building with these old silo things still hanging from it. I don’t know for sure but I would say they are remnants from then as they have nothing to do with what is in the building now.

We were treated to a visit from Nick’s brother in February. He lives far away and we haven’t seen him in a few years, so it was a real pleasure to have him with us. It was so much fun.

We were planning to go out for dinner one night while he was here but the weather was so messy that we scrapped those plans and had some of the homemade lobster ravioli that Nick had made and saved in the freezer.

It just figures that the sun came out in full-glory the day he was leaving.

All the while that he was seeing the city it was masked in gloomy fog, with cold slush falling from the sky. For going out in, it was the worse weather that we’ve had all winter.

But that didn’t stop those brothers. They went out in their rain-gear, warm scarves and beanie hats. They had the streets to themselves, and walk they did.

Thanks for taking a look,
xo loulou
