EBay Calling : Pyrex and an Owl

A couple of treasures arrived yesterday, via EBay! It appears I am going right along with the good advice given by Julie at Olivine’s Charm School in her post called “How to Survive Holiday Shopping Without Getting Arrested”, that “YOU should be on your own holiday gift list, every year”!

The first thing, two Pyrex casserole dishes with lids, are for both of us, because we use our vintage Pyrex collection every day. It is so handy and pretty and we only live once, so we use it regardless of the threat of breakage! After-all, it’s fun to find new pieces to replace any that break. Even Boycat Eddie drinks his water out of a vintage Pyrex casserole dish, albeit one for which the lid had a little accident and broke.

Today’s arrivals are a brand new pattern for us, which as far as I can tell, is called Butterfly Gold.

The second item is this cute vintage brass owl pendant. I love owls and am happy to have him, with his sparkly topaz coloured eyes. He is a big guy, standing at a full 3 1/2 inches. I think I will replace the brass chain with a leather cord, and wear him low as the featured detail with a plain black sweater.

Thank you for taking a look at my new (old) things! Do you like to buy items from EBay?

I love those bowls, the color is great!

Great Pieces! I just recently started collecting myself and found a casserole at my local Goodwill in that same pattern a couple of days ago. I have a pic of it up on my blog Chewing the Fat at Blogger. Btw, I’m pretty sure that pattern is called Butterfly Gold: Etsy has great pieces for pretty reasonable prices. Good luck collecting!
