An Excellent Movie Watching Experience

Neither Nick nor I had seen the movie Avatar, so when our friends Kim and Chris invited us over to watch it at their place a couple of Saturdays ago, we jumped at the chance. This gets better though because they have a cool television that could play the movie in 3D. They just had to click a magic button, give us each a pair of special glasses to wear, and viola, a terrific movie watching experience was had.

We had dinner before the movie – in keeping with the casual Movie Night theme, Chris grilled up some hot dogs. We love them so were pleased to hear they were on the menu.

The hotdogs were served with the usual condiments of ketchup, mustard and pickles, plus Chris prepared some gourmet toppings as well – some sauteed onions and peppers and warmed sauerkraut. On the side there was a chopped salad. Drinks were beer and cider. All was delicious.

After dinner we moved over to their comfortable sofa area for the movie watching.

We brought over some caramel popcorn that I made following this recipe, so we snacked on that during the movie.

As most of you probably already know, Avatar is an amazing movie. Wow! As the final credits rolled I was quite surprised to see that we had watched for nearly three hours. I was so enthralled by the whole thing that the time just flew by.

The evening was a very good time, spent in very good company.

Thanks for dropping over. I hope you had an enjoyable weekend and your Monday is going well so far.
