A Visit to the Art Gallery

I was a very lucky lady last Friday as I got to go to a special show at the Art Gallery of Ontario. It was the first day of the Ai Weiwei exhibit, when only members of the gallery and their guests got to have an early viewing of the art. My friend Meghan is the member and I was the fortunate guest.

In spite of stopping briefly on the street during the walk over (to get these Street Style shots of a girl wearing an excellent dress) I arrived a bit early. So there was time to snap a few shots in the lobby.

We also have tickets to see the David Bowie exhibit coming in September. Woot!

There was something extra special about this show … unlike most of the other travelling collections they host at the gallery we were allowed to take pictures at this one. So of course I got plenty, which I’ll post over the weekend.

We walked through the Ai Weiwei show three times and then found a nice spot to talk a bit.

All the neat wooden features in the gallery are thanks to a recent redesign by Frank Gehry.

The glass and wood hall is called the Galleria Italia, and is where we stopped to have some refreshment, herbal tea for Meghan and a refreshing Italian Lemon Soda for me.

And speaking about being a lucky lady, my pal is off to Rome soon. I have heard such wonderful things about that city and I just want to hide in her suitcase and go too.

Thanks for dropping over,
