What I Wore : New Year’s Eve

nye-outfit-03

As mentioned yesterday, we went to a party at a nightclub for New Year’s Eve. I would say that this venue is more casual rock-and-roll than fancy, although anything goes there.

I decided to go with this sheer polka-dotted shirt, pairing it with a short black skirt, tank-top, and leggings. I glammed things up a bit with a big red cocktail ring and a colourful necklace. Also worn is an elastic belt (that I made and posted about here) but you can barely see it in the photos.

Expecting to be standing the whole night, I wanted a hands-free purse, so went with a tiny cross-body bag, that was just large enough for my little camera, lipstick, tissues, house-key, id, money and earplugs.

I also needed comfortable footwear that could take a bit of slush and salt, as we had snow for New Years, so chose these vintage inspired vinyl booties with a small heel.

Nick also wore polka-dots but this was by coincidence and we had not planned to match. And for once, he agreed to join me for a quick picture. Thank goodness it turned out alright because he only gave me one chance. (Not a fan of having his picture taken that one.) Note that he is wearing his house-shoes in the picture but wore some black Blundstone boots out.
