Dinner at the Home of Friends : Chops and Leslie

c-and-l

You’ve met our friends Chops and Leslie when they came over to our place, shown in this post. Today I have the pleasure of giving you a little look at their happy home, after Nick and I went there for dinner on Friday.

This is a couple we’ve known for more than 8 years, after first meeting Chops through the music scene. He’s is an awesome drummer (you can see a post about one of his shows here) We used to perform with him a lot and we will do so again relatively soon, as after taking some time away from music we are now working on a new project.

This dinner was more about friendship than it was about music though, and our comfortable relationship with these people meant for an evening that was filled with the laughs and easy conversations that come with years of knowing one another.

Chops clearly admitted that he had next to nothing to do with the amazing meal we were served. Leslie gets all the credit for the beautiful fruit topped spinach salad, delicious beef curry served on basmatti rice and dessert including individual lemon Bundt cakes, filled with homemade strawberry ice-cream. Oh my gosh … so good. I wish I had that dessert to eat all over again right now!

They live an easy streetcar ride away so without having to worry about driving, we lingered after dinner with a nice glass of wine, seated (reclined actually) in what may be the most comfortable sofas I’ve ever sat on. It was difficult to get up and leave the warmth of this lovely home and go out into the cold drizzly night. We rode home with smiles on our faces and fond memories of a very nice night.

Thank you for taking a look at what we’ve been up to. I hope you had a fun weekend and the week is off to a good start. (We were actually a very lucky couple this weekend and were treated to two lovely dinners at the home of friends, so I’ll have another dinner party post coming up later in the week. And consider popping back tomorrow to see what was inside the box Leslie is holding above!)
