It’s No Hassle to Make a Tassel

Yesterday I showed you a crocheted scarf here that I recently finished, on which I attached a tassel to each end. Today I will show you how I made those tassels but will also include a tutorial on how to make a smaller tassel, using one skein of embroidery floss.Let's start with that one.

I finally finished a scarf I began crocheting last winter but put down for the summer! The yarn had a casual look about it so I decided to finish the ends with some fun big Pom-Pom tassels. I will be posting a tutorial for how I made them tomorrow.

Caturday Goes to the Dogs : Here’s Kiki

    kiki 1

Well, this week's Caturday post goes to one dog in particular. Please meet Kiki! She is a happy chihuahua who lives with my mom and dad. Kiki was a rescue from a puppy mill in the United States someplace, and was placed with my parents through an organization called Precious Paws. She was a breeder who, according to the vet, appears to have had many pups. We don't know exactly how old she is, but she acts like a puppy herself!

She was adopted after my parents lost their beloved Cairn Terrier, Duffy, a couple of years ago. He had been their first dog ever and was welcomed into their home as a newborn. He lived a happy life and when he died my parent's were understandably quite sad. And then came Little Miss Kiki Girl! She has just made herself right at home and is very loved.

Warm Mushroom and Goat Cheese Salad

Here is the recipe featuring a warm mushroom dressing and goat cheese, over mixed greens. It can be fancy, served as a starter for a dinner party, or it can be a casual everyday dish by using less special (meaning less expensive) ingredients. I will give you both versions of the recipe so you can fancy it up or not. Both are really tasty.

    Themed Thursday : Fish

Before I go any further on this Themed Thursday post which features the topic of fishes, I want to apologize in case I make you overly envious because of the great stuff I have. I am kidding, but it did strike me as funny when I began taking stock of the humorous items I owned that are fish related.
