A Special Guest is Here to Show You Something
This little sweetheart is Delilah. She is the two year old daughter of my cousin, which technically makes her my cousin-once-removed. But that sounds much too distant for how I feel about her, and since her dear mother is like a sister to me, I consider little D to be my niece.
It is just too bad that they live a plane-ride away so I don't get to see them, but these pictures her mother took for me, with permission to show you, really make my heart sing.

After the Snow Comes the Slush : A Winter Walk on a City Street
Care to see Toronto looks like for a good 4 to 5 months of the year, when the streets are messy and slushy? I tend to usually take pictures when things are warm, bright and clean, but of course, that doesn't give you a true story.
I took these shots on our way home from our date to the hat store and out for lunch, that I told you about yesterday (here). This is a look at what Queen Street West was like on Friday afternoon, after a snowfall the previous night. While everything looked beautiful upon waking, while some flurries still gently drifted down and everything was covered in a fluffy blanket of white, within no time at all it begins to look quite a bit less pretty.

An Afternoon Date : Returning to the Hat Shop and Lunch Out
Last week I told you about this neat hat shop (here) that I'd found called Goorin Bros., where I had got Nick a fedora for Christmas. Well at the end of that post I'd mentioned that they were having a 50% off sale on some of their selections, and since there was an IOU in Nick's gift bag earmarked for something that he got to pick out himself, we went over to have a look. I had originally meant the IOU to go towards a sports jacket, but he politely declined, saying he didn't think he would get that much wear out of one.

How Much is That Doggie in the Window?
Ever since coming upon this dog in a store window while out walking on Queen Street West yesterday, that silly song has been going through my head. Of course, he wasn't for sale but was rather a cute little shop dog who had found the perfect spot from which to watch the world go by.
