My fun new friend Andrea and I were keen to get to know one another better, so we met for pizza last Thursday. We went to
Pizzeria Libretto (on Ossington) and the place was packed. That’s not surprising because the food and atmosphere are really good there. To drink we each tried one of their home-brewed beers, and shared a couple of pizzas. One of our choices had Porcini Mushrooms and Gorgonzola and the other had Tomato Sauce, Fresh Basil and Bocconcini (which I just discovered are simply small balls of mozzarella). It may look like a lot of food in the picture, but their pizzas have the most delicate thin crusts, so they're not overly filling. Even so, we didn't get through it all so I took the lefties home for Nick.I read on their site that the pizzas only take 90 seconds to cook in their hand built 900 degree wood-burning oven.

Here are some shots from an errand-walk we took last week, when I was able to get Nick to veer off his efficient path, and sneak around a bit in some back alleys with me.First we were on King Street West. Walking along the street you can just barely see this old loading dock, hidden down a lane-way. The building, which would have been built at the end of the 1800s, is quickly becoming surrounded by new development but from the look of things, it is going to stay put the way it is at least for now.And no, we didn't plan to dress in matching outfits ...

(I have just been going back and forth on the fact that it's probably not correct to call a person who sews a 'sewer' because, of course, a sewer is a whole different thing!)I don't even sew that much but always have fun poking around the shops lining both sides of the street on this block. Many of them have been there for decades and probably even have old stock left from when they first opened. You just never know what sewing-related materials you will find, so would likely come away with well-priced fabric that you didn't even realize you needed or wanted but that you can't wait to turn into something great. However if you're in need something specific, there is so much variety available that you will surely find exactly (or pretty close to) what you're looking for.

I spotted this cute cat sitting in front of the door of a different house, a couple of buildings down from where I took these pictures. When I saw her I went for my camera that was in my bag, and of course she got wise and hit the road running away. So I followed her.
She came to stop here, on a patio that was a bit hidden from the sidewalk. So I had to squat down and try to get the picture through the opening in the gate. All the while clicking my tongue and telling her what a pretty girl she was, in an attempt to get her to look my way.

yesterday that I'd be back with the rest of the pictures I took during a Sunday afternoon walk.We walked past the building in which we were married and had our reception party. This amazing late 19th century mansion was available for rental back then (14 years ago in November 1999).
